My name is Dee and I am an Early
Childhood Education Major, this is my Junior/Senior year here at Reinhardt
University. My reasons for wanting to be a teacher, well I love kids hands
down. Well this is not what I wanted to do from the start. I was going to
school to be a Dance Major, and then become a dance teacher. The reason for
picking Early Childhood Education as my major is simply because I have a great
connection with kids. Even when growing up little kids would just come up to
me.
I am taking this class because it
is a class that all education majors have to take. This class is made to help
teachers understand the terms that have to be made when something goes wrong in
the classroom. Also this class will also help the teachers that have to teach
there own PE class and Health class. What I think that I can provide for my
students, is the ability to have patients and the skill to be hands on with my
students.
However, I think that with what I
have learned the passed years I think that I will be able to show
differentiation in the classroom. This would come easier for myself because I
am a LD student and have had the time to go through the process of being in a
differentiation classroom. I also think that as a teacher I will be able to
provide my classroom with the break down different rules so that no student
will be left out and learn at the same level.
There is a lot of things that I
think that I can bring to the classroom that others can not is the advantage of
being in the classroom and working with kids in the classroom. When going to
help and sub in the classrooms I am the one that would lean towards the kids
that need side help, such as breaking it down.
In conclusion I think that I will
be a great addition to the classroom because I have been through so much with
having to have help from others. I know how to sit down and help others one on
one, and have the patients to explain things in different ways. In the end I am
a young educator trying to make a difference in the classroom. I hope this
gives you a little taste of myself and why I want to be a teacher.
